Context and Objectives
An automobile leasing leader faced significant challenges due to rising direct costs, particularly in maintenance. The unpredictability of costs, coupled with the fact that contracts are renewed only every four years, left them with limited control over their expenses.
Ignoring these complications could lead to inflated costs, diminishing profit margins, and a lack of competitive edge in the market.
By undertaking this project, the leaser aimed to implement rigorous controls over their expenditures, identify dealers with abnormal cost patterns, and enhance their understanding of maintenance frequencies.
The potential gains included reduced costs, improved operational efficiency, and a stronger financial position.
Approach
We adopted a structured approach:
The project commenced with capturing detailed requirements and gathering data from the client.
A thorough data quality check was conducted to ensure accuracy.
We then designed the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process in Anatella, which involved extracting data from specific folders, combining and cleaning it, and generating output files suitable for Power BI.
An interactive Power BI dashboard was developed to facilitate price and frequency analysis, allowing ALD to compare average maintenance costs and activity frequencies across different dealers. The dashboard provided valuable insights through visual representations, supporting decision-making processes.
Regular feedback loops with the client ensured alignment and adaptability throughout the iterative development process.
Finally, comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer sessions were conducted to equip the client with the necessary tools to leverage the dashboard effectively.

The impact of the project was significant.
The Power BI dashboard enabled the client to identify dealers with abnormal cost patterns and maintenance frequencies, leading to actionable insights that drove meaningful cost reductions.
